For people living with any terminal illness, and their families, Marie Curie offers expert care, guidance and support, free of charge, to help them get the most they can from life, in the time that they have left
Hire or borrow equipment
The First Call Service provides free practical and emotional support with post-hospital discharge or assisting people to remain independent in their own homes. This free, time-limited service is invaluable in assisting people to build their self-confidence and their ability to cope. The support could be companionship, practical tasks such as shopping, attending medical appointments, regular telephone support and signposting to other organisations for additional long term support. All services are delivered by trained staff and volunteers. Referrals can be accepted by individuals, family members, friends and neighbours, adult social care, hospitals and other health care and voluntary sector professionals.

Manav Seva Meals on wheels service is available for senior citizens or adults who are suffering from any illnesses or any types of disabilities. Currently providing home delivered fresh vegetarian meals with different menus every day.
ICare meals service
ICare delivers two-course hot meals or frozen meals 365 days a year. The person who delivers the meal will also put it on a plate for you and check that you have a drink if you request it. You can pay extra for the ICare delivery person to stay for 15 minutes to help with other needs you may have such as washing up, taking out rubbish, and checking heating and hot water.
You can choose your meal from a varied menu, including:
Meals for special diets (e.g. soft food, gluten free, diabetic)
Meals for different cultures and religions (e.g. halal, kosher, South Asian)
Tea (sandwich, cake and orange juice) – delivered with your hot or frozen meal

Kind’s of Queniborough are a local, independent family company. They supply frozen meals and hot meals on wheels by a friendly team who can plate up, make a hot drink and provide a wellbeing check at no extra cost. They cater for all dietary and cultural requirements including halal, vegetarian and pureed meals. They can usually start a delivery the next day and can also supply groceries and home from hospital packs.

East West Community Centre
Mobile meals is one of a range of many services provided by East West Community Centre to help vulnerable people live in their own home independently for as long as they are able to do so. The service provides nutritionally balanced vegetarian meals that are delivered to your home on a daily basis or as the need arises. The mobile meals service can be provided either on a short term or longer term basis to support anyone, for example those recently discharged from hospital.
Where can I get exercise, find local interest groups and social company to maintain my wellbeing?
To find local groups, drop-ins and café chats near you, see village / parish magazines, local advertising, your library, dentist waiting rooms, GP practices, or local news and radio stations. You will find wide ranging activities including allotments, art, choirs and music, chess and puzzle clubs, movement and dance groups, informal café coffee chats, badminton, bowls and other sports clubs.
