Carer's Session offered by The Care Centre and LOROS - to help people caring for someone with a limiting illness

The Carers Centre and LOROS are co-working to offer 4 support sessions to carers, specifically aimed at people who are looking after someone they care about, who has a life limiting illness. 

The Carers Centre and LOROS are co-working to offer 4 support sessions to carers, specifically aimed at people who are looking after someone they care about, who has a life limiting illness. 


Session 1; 26th August 2022. What matters to you? This session is about thinking ahead, understanding what palliative and end of life care is. Documentation and communication around the future 


Session 2; 30th September 2022. What services are out there to help? Services available in LLR, what they do and how to access them 


Session 3; 28th October 2022. Exploring fears and uncertainties Thinking about fears and anxieties regarding the future, management and reflection ideas, the importance of self-care and understanding grief 


Session 4; 25th November 2022. What to expect as the person you care for deteriorates Sign, symptoms, recognising deterioration and how to manage this. What to do at the time of death and after 


Each session will be from 11-12.30
