Rutland Snowdrop Award recognises exceptional end-of-life care

The Rutland Snowdrop Award 2025 was presented to Adrienne Pienaar in recognition of the exceptional and compassionate care she provided to a client towards the end of his life.

The Snowdrop Award gives families and friends an opportunity to recognise health and care professionals who have gone above and beyond in supporting someone at the end of life.

Adrienne's nomination described the care she took to enable her client to continue enjoying a rich professional and social life despite serious illness, while carefully managing his energy and wellbeing as his health declined.

The award was presented by Dr Sarah Furness, Lord-Lieutenant of Rutland and Patron of Dying Matters Rutland, who praised Adrienne's commitment, kindness and compassion and the difference these had made to her client's quality of life.

The Snowdrop Award celebrates the human side of end-of-life care and recognises the importance of empathy, dignity and kindness alongside practical and clinical support.
